Business buyers search differently. They use words like *bulk*, *commercial*, *case pack*, and they search by industry — *classroom*, *clinic*, *warehouse*. Those searches convert differently too, often better, and almost nobody is bidding on them properly.

Five actions, from the one-click adjustment to dedicated campaigns.

## **1. Raise the business placement modifier**

The quickest thing available.

**Find campaigns with promising B2B ACoS over the last 30 days** and a meaningful number of purchases.

**Campaign Manager → the campaign → Bid Adjustments → Amazon Business Placements**, and raise the modifier by **10–30%**.

**Then watch impressions, clicks and sales.**

**The honest limitation:** scaling business traffic through the modifier alone has historically been difficult, because additional spend keeps flowing to consumer traffic anyway. It is worth doing because it costs nothing, not because it will transform the channel.

**Check placement performance before you adjust it.** If Amazon Business shows better conversion and lower ACoS than your other placements, the modifier is justified; if it does not, raising it just moves spend. See [**Placement Bid Optimisation**](https://kb.trackiq.com/hc/knowledge-base/articles/placement-bid-optimisation) and [**Placements: Top of Search**](https://kb.trackiq.com/hc/knowledge-base/articles/placements-top-of-search).

## **2. Duplicate your best campaigns as B2B campaigns**

**This is where the real control is.**

**Take your 3–5 best campaigns** from the last 30 days, on ACoS and purchases.

**Recreate them targeting Amazon Business customers exclusively.** Same structure, same keywords, same match types, same bidding strategy, same bids. **The only change is the audience.**

**Why this beats the modifier:** you get independent bids, budgets, placements and optimisation for business traffic, instead of a percentage adjustment on a campaign whose spend is dominated by consumers.

## **3. Run low-bid campaigns against business buyers**

The same cheap structures that work on the consumer side, aimed at business traffic.

**Start with three:** the auto catch-all, the auto low-bid, and the auto Top of Search variant. Same bids, same settings — targeting Amazon Business only.

## **4. Do B2B-specific keyword research**

**The highest-value action here**, because these terms behave nothing like your consumer keywords.

**Start from competitors who rank well on the business side** and pull the keywords they appear for. Then look for four patterns:

**Business vocabulary** — *bulk*, *supplies*, *wholesale*, *commercial*, *industrial*.

**Certifications** — *OSHA first aid kit*, and equivalents in your category. Buyers filter on compliance.

**Industries** — *school*, *classroom*, *office*, *hospital*, *clinic*, *restaurant*, *warehouse*, *laboratory*.

**Quantity** — *multi-pack*, *case pack*.

**Then build dedicated campaigns for them:**

| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Type | Sponsored Products, manual |
| Bidding | down-only |
| Placement modifier | none |
| Structure | 1 ad group per campaign |
| Keywords | up to 10 per ad group, **exact** |
| Bids | Amazon's suggested bid |
| Budget | **$10–30/day** until proven |

**Small budgets deliberately.** You are testing whether these terms convert for your product, and they often behave very differently from consumer traffic in both directions.

## **5. Test business audiences on Sponsored Display**

**Sponsored Display → Targeting → Interests & Lifestyle → Browse → Business & Industry.**

Amazon provides segments by business type, business size and industry.

**One audience per campaign**, so you can tell which works. Down-only bidding, no placement modifier, exact match keywords, suggested bids, **$10–30/day**.

**Judge these separately from your core B2B campaigns.** They are prospecting rather than harvesting, and holding them to the same ACoS target will cut them prematurely — the same trap covered in [**Create a Sponsored Display Campaign**](https://kb.trackiq.com/hc/knowledge-base/articles/create-a-sponsored-display-campaign).

## **The order to do this in**

**Modifier first** — five minutes, no risk.

**Duplicate your winners** — highest confidence, since you already know the campaigns work.

**Keyword research** — most upside, most effort.

**Low-bid campaigns** — cheap coverage.

**Display audiences** — most speculative.

## **Set the pricing up first**

**Do not drive business traffic to listings without business pricing and quantity discounts in place.**

You would be paying for buyers who then see the same offer any consumer sees, on a channel where they expect otherwise. Set the pricing, then buy the traffic — see [**Business Pricing and Quantity Discounts**](https://kb.trackiq.com/hc/knowledge-base/articles/business-pricing-and-quantity-discounts).

## **Common mistakes**

**Relying on the modifier alone** and concluding B2B does not work.

**Duplicating campaigns and then changing the bids too**, so you cannot compare.

**Judging display audiences on last-click ACoS.**

**Large budgets on unproven B2B keywords.**

**Advertising into a listing with no business pricing.**
